I believe some of the most impactful social content comes from combining strong visuals with a story that makes people feel something.
After learning that a historic wooden tower in my hometown was going to be demolished, I used my photography to preserve its memory. I transformed the photos into a sentimental short-form reel using trending audio, creating a piece of content that connected with the local community.
The reel generated 22K views and 1,600 interactions organically, including 968 likes, 52 comments, and 516 shares, with no paid advertising. The project demonstrated how thoughtful storytelling, strong visual content, and platform-specific strategy can turn a simple collection of photographs into highly engaging social content.
I also included a second reel created for my personal art page, featuring nature photography I had captured over time. I created the video simply to encourage people to put their phones down, step outside, and reconnect with the world around them. It reflects one of my favorite things about visual storytelling: using creative work to make a positive impact, even in small ways.
