PROJECT OVERVIEW
While working for a company that manufactures tools for tire changing on large off-the-road (OTR) equipment, I was tasked with designing a custom sticker for the Off the Road
Tire Conference—a major industry event attended by professionals in heavy equipment
and tire services.
The goal was to create a design that was not only visually appealing, but also tailored specifically to the event and its audience. I chose to highlight an excavator—a highly recognizable and relevant piece of machinery in the OTR space. To reference the location and atmosphere of the show, I also incorporated a desert landscape with a warm, earthy color palette inspired by the Arizona setting that worked well with the company branding.
One key part of this project was understanding how people interact with branded stickers.
These stickers worked perfect to give out at the booth, but being visually striking they also would continue to be used when attendees went home and stuck to their toolboxes, laptops, water bottles, etc. That’s why I focused on making the design not just a freebie, but something people would want to keep and display for years after the event. We also used this sticker design theme across the entire marketing materials for the event, I attached the flyer we used on our tabletop for this same show, creating a cohesive imagery for the show.
This sticker was also part of a larger effort to develop event-specific, collectible designs for each trade show we attended. By giving each event its own unique visual identity, we were able to create a more engaging and memorable brand presence across the industry.
